Blog Awards

Gayle from the Sparkle Jars blog sent me an e-mail advising me that she has nominated me for 2 blog awards, the Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008 and the Arte y Pico. I am honored, Gayle. Thank you so much.

Per the Brilliante award rules, I must choose seven more blogs worthy of the award. Per the Arte y Pico award rules I must select five. As some of you know, I have subscriptions to 500 blogs and selecting just a few will be difficult. While the blogs that I am nominating deserve both awards, I will nominate them for only one so I can distribute the awards to more blogs. Aside from Gayle's blog, my top favorites are Lynn's Fiber Fantasies, Susan's Blackberry Creek and Jenclair's Bayou Quilts and A Garden Carried in the Pocket. Lynn, Susan and Gayle have already been awarded these honors so I will exclude them from my list.

The rules for receiving the Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008 award are:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog. I am having trouble uploading the logo today so I will try again tomorrow morning. If you see the logo, you can disregard this notice.

The rules for the Arte y Pico Award are:

1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name of and link to the blog that presented her/him with the award.

4. The award winner and one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte de Pico"blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.

My nominations for this award are:

Karen South's Crazy Quilting World. When I began reading blogs, I checked Karen's daily. She inspired me to start blogging myself and her blog was the template that I used. I betcha she doesn't know this!

Allison Aller's Allie's in Stitches. There are no words to describe how much I have learned about crazy quilting from Allie's blog. She was a finalist in the last $100,000 Quilt Contest. That should tell you how good she is at it.

Pam Kellogg's Kitty and Me Designs. Along with Allison Aller, this is another one of the premier crazy quilting sites.

Lin Moon's Purple Fan is a fabulous beading blog. You gotta have patience to do this kind of work.

Jenny Gallo's Carrot Top Studio is my final selection. Jenny makes liturgical quilts.
